Have been thinking of organizing a fishing trip to either Dale Hollow or Lake of the Ozarks – but thinking of doing it when you can’t fish up North (Nov-April). Anyone ever fished those two lakes in our “off season” any experiences to share, advice, when is their season closed, guides to use, etc?
We hit Lake of the Ozarks two years ago in March. Fishing was pretty good. Wiggle Wart, Jig, Squarebill, and jerkbait were the hot lures. I you are going to go before March, then I’d try Dale Hollow.
Anyone ever fished Dale Hollow? My daughter goes to Mizzou so I think a trip to Lake of the Ozarks is in the cards. …but still have a slight preference for the smallies and Dale Hollow sounds enticing.
some buddies of mine go there every year in february. Sounds like a float and fly is the number one bait out there that time of year. Another friend of mine says that every year if you go around good Friday the bed fishing for smallies is phenomenal.
