    what jerkbaits are the most effective right now made by rapala? And what kind of pole is the best for working jerkbaits? Thanks

    Personally, I like huskyjerks and x-raps. Both suspend real well to keep in the strike zone longer. X-raps are a little more erratic than the Husky’s when twitched, but the sky is the limit with cadence.

    X raps are about as good of a smallmouth jerk bait as I have used. Had some luck with the x-rap sub walk too for both largemouth and smallmouth.

    Though they are more expensive than X-Raps and Husky Jerks…The Max-Rap has really become my go to jerkbait especially for pre spawn conditions. Do not let the small front lip fool you…they get down plenty deep and bass really eat them…St Croix Legend Tournament Bass TBC71MF rod really tames jerkbaits and allows effective hook sets.

    Glad you mentioned the Max Rap, haven’t paid that one much attention yet and would love to try it out next year.
