Headed up to the Walker area this weekend and hoping to due a little top water fishing for LMB. I was wondering what you thought was the best top water lure to use this time of year?

I like Scum Frog’s and Zoom Horny Toads, but thats here in the Metro Area as they’ve been working good.

All the above, but I am partial to Spro Frogs. Very rugged and high performance. Easy to use. Very effective. I have had the best luck lately on white. Fished a South central lake last week and had 30 blow ups on them in just a few hours.

The Northland Jaw Breaker spoons are popular up here and work great too. I like them because they cast well with a baitcaster.

I’ve caught plenty of bass on topraiders. I’ve actually never caught a muskie on one like it’s intended for, but I have caught plenty of bass.

Those frogs are good around here and on the river this time of year. But when you get up north it’s not the same cover. Buzzbaits and Spooks take over.

I’d vote for a lucky strike sammie. Nothing better than seeing that explosion. They have higher quality hooks and very easy to work. There worth the cost.

Who says you need weeds for frogging? Frogs work just as well in open water, assuming you know how to fish them.

Buzz bait to cover water.. Frog, prop bait, or popper when you need to slow down.
