Anyone having luck with crankbaits right now in the metro area? All of last summer and into the fall I couldn’t keep bass and northern off of them. This year I can’t hardly get a bite on them (Mille Lacs being the exception!). I mainly use deep diving silent cranks (15 to 20 feet) and shallow silent divers (1 to 8 feet), all ran with florocarbon. I love bombing crankbaits, but I may have to ease back on the throttle and start texas rigging, jigging, and dropshotting a bit more. Fishing slumps are no good

This is a different year than most. Slow has definitely been a big producer but with that said I have still had luck on Cranks. Just gotta ignite the school first

I’ll have to give the lipless cranks a workout, I’ll admit, I haven’t been using those much. Randy, nice fish in those pics from the report!

Vary the retrieve too until you find what triggers them. I do a lot of stop and go as well as faster retrieves and I catch a lot of fish from it
