I just purchased the KVD R.E.S. yesterday and am wondering what the best color is for sunny days? I have the color that is white and has sparkles down towards the belly and has a bluish tint toward the top. Is that a good color? I also want to know if I should change the hooks on it because it seemed to me that they were snagging weeds an awful lot.

You can change the hooks if you want for better hook ups on fish but it won’t change your weed ratio. In terms of it’s a good color it sounds really good but the best way to find out is to try it!

Those were designed to fish in the weeds. Don’t change a thing. When you feel a weed on it, drop your rod tip about a foot and do a sharp jerk with your wrist, only move the bait about a foot when you do this. The weeds will come off and you will probably feel one hell of a *THUMP!*.

That is a good color for replicating gizzard shad. I have that color and the sexy sunfish as my go-to baits. If I’m fishing a lake I throw the sunfish, if I’m fishing the river I throw the shad looking one. Then if I dont get bit I start changing colors until I find one they will hit.
