because there was nothing new that I needed…

The Dobyns (western style) longer, finesse casting rods have appealed to me for some time, for the style of fishing I employ. I got to meet a couple FLW guys last season that let me try their Dobyns rods and I really liked them.
I’ve tried several casting rods besides St. Croix the past couple seasons… Loomis, Powell, Skeet Reese, Veritas, Quantum KVD to name a few…While none of them are bad… I like the Dobyns the best so far.

I am not giving up my St. Croix LEX Spin rods or Pfleuger Arbor reels any time soon…but I also like and fish Limit Creeks with equal success.
Thank Goodness we can have lots of rods in the rack to choose from.

I recently purchased the $99 Lew Reel. Great reel for the price but I still like Curados better. The Lews reel I have reminds me of the Abu Garcia Revo.

They have the Linear Magnetic braking system. I like Curado’s inertial braking system better or Daiwa’s magnetic braking system.

I agree Otto. You need to try a Team Lews or Tournament model. They are pricey but will compare to the Shimanos
