    Had a great weekend of fishing! Started out with a multi-species guide trip on Friday where we caught a little bit of everything, then we got on some smallies in a serious way! Fishing in the Hayward, WI area we found female smallmouth on beds and they were aggressive! We had over 50 fish in the boat on Saturday alone, with the biggest being just under 21″… a lot of 18″ fish and we only caught several under 16″. If anybody is interested let me know, I have days open this week still.

    Yeah, we caught some absolute beauties out there. Clear water and sun makes for some good looking fish pics. We are fishing beds in over 12′ of water at times where you can see every pebble on bottom. Fun! Here’s another good pic…

    Yes, that is my daughter Madeline and my buddy. They teamed up on a few fish. Madeline fought a bunch of the fish back to the boat and was also able to hook a couple herself off the beds. I was a very proud Dad!

    I dont believe bass season is open yet in Hayward?

    Sure is. Catch and Release only. Opens first Saturday of May.

    Great looking fish, I normally head up your way to fish the first few weeks before the Mn bass opener.

    The smallmouth bass action has been fantastic on the Turtle-Flambeau Flowage in Mercer, Wi the past few days.
