What are your thoughts on the spawn-earlier than usual? Does anyone know what the current water temps are?
I forget every year, at approximately what water temp do males enter spawning grounds?

It’s going to be an early spawn. I was out on Minnetonka this weekend and Crystal Bay was only 53 degrees but Grampas Bay was already 55. But back in the smaller bays we saw temps closer to 60. Went back into Secant Lake and the temps hit 62. We saw loads of sunfish swimming around and biting everywhere along with bass starting to get shallower. Even though they are in the prespawn stage now it will be an early spawn.
