I am hoping to get out one more time prior to the dreaded ice season. I am wondeirng if anyone has been able to get out recently and if you got anything?
I imagined that fishing would be slow and jigs and works would be the main techniquest to be used.

Based on where I live, i think we have maybe two weeks left of decent fishing.

It’s do-able, I go out all winter and catch em Ice Fsihing. The end of January seems to be the best though. As for now, look for the only living weeds on the lake. I would throw cranks and jigs as you stated.

I just parked the boat today after 7 months on the river. Tomorrow organize the tackle for next March or April. Good luck.

I haven’t been out frequently as of lately. But as mentioned, look for the greenest weeds, dragging 10″ lizard has work the best for me. The hits have become more of dead weight on the line. But they sure do turn it on when the hook is set! Good luck

Boat is cleaned and polished up ready for storage. Organized gear this morning and put everything away for the year. Did look up in the rafters at my ice gear, actually looking forward to it.

Still have to clean and lubricate reels but that gives me something to do while waiting for the water to freeze.

I fished on Tuesday – Calhoun and Isles – caught 7 all under 16 inches – nothing big

All ate a jig in 12 feet of water.

Saw fish at 16 over 25 feet of water but could not get them to bite.

Boat went into the farm for storage yesterday –

What a depressing thread. Considering I broke Ice in 2009 to proceed to catch 50+ bass, I’m far from done here. Three of the best baits of November were not mentioned: Suspending Jerkbait, spinnerbait, and lipless crank. A lipless crank will catch fish on a reaction bite down to 42 degree water temps. A jerkbait would catch them through the ice if there was a way to fish it… and slow rolling a 3/4 oz or 1 oz spinnerbait in deep water is sawweeeet! A lot of the best fishing of the year is upon us. I had 19 lbs 8 oz on a local lake Sunday, all but 1 caught on a norman DD22 (deep crankbait).
