My club was up last weekend for our annual Oct tournament. I usually put in some time Bassin, then hit the Walleyes at night.
The Bass did not disapoint, fishing was slow and you had to work for them, but extreme quality bass were caught.
Most of the fish were quite big. A long with the average 18 to 19 inch Smallie, we were able to get a few that were 20 and 21 inches.
And I was able to catch my ALLTIME biggest Smallie at 22 inches and 6.1 pounds. I hooked it up 4 minutes before our tournament time ended and took a full (clocked) 8 minutes to land it on 8 pound mono. I could absolutely not believe the size and girth of this fish.
It was my best ever complete Mille Lacs tournament (paper tourney) with the culled Bass limit and Walleye limit.

    Thanks guys,

Jeremy- it was live bait, lindy rig/minnow.
Tom- taxidermy? am trying to get out of the business. SMB are 100% protected here in MN as mandatory release after mid-septemter. they are just too vulnerable mid to late fall. might consider doing a repo for myself tho.

am trying to get back up there, but have guests this week. mid next week maybe.
