Anyone use buzzbaits often? I’ve been using them lately, but only getting northerns. Any pointers for catching bass with them?

What colors do you usually use? Are you using a clacker no clacker, 2 or 3 blade, trailer or no. There are alot of variables invovled. I only fish the river and they are great for dirtier water and around weed beds or flats. They do catch there fair share of northerns and it can be frustrating. A light chop or over cast conditions are ideal. I use them on clear days with good results also.

With the late spring we have had I am thinking the buzzbait bite might be a little later than normal. The frog bite is not what it normally is for me yet and that starts a week or two earlier for me than my buzzbait bite.

I love the buzzbait bite when it is on…

What colors are you throwing? Size?

Plan on a few pike every time out.

Wait till a muskie inhales on

Ron is right on…The Northerns are more active right now.

Frogs are starting to kick in and Buzzers will be soon. Colors for me are simple, bright colors in bright light dark colors overcast and evening.

(Tip) Longer rods and fast reels help… I’m using a 7’3″ MH rod with a 7.1 to 1 casting reel.

Do you guys tend to use white or black buzzers? Last weekend and the whole year we have gotten zippo on frogs and buzzers. Hopefully that changes soone!

I only have a few buzzbaits and none have the clacker, but the one i’ve been mainly throwing is black with a silver blade, made by boogerman. I also notice that no matter how I adjust it, it always wants to track left. It would be cool to catch bass on the buzzbaits, but the northerns are still fun!
