A lot of the Metro lakes that I’ve been fishing the spawn is twards the end. Most of the bigger females are in that Post Spawn funk and are rather hard to find and get to bit. The good news is that in another few weeks those same fish should start to feed rather heavy. There are a few of the larger and cooler lakes that there may still be some good bed fishing but I don’t think that will last much longer. Some of the smaller lake that I’ve been on the last few days have had water temps pushing 80 Deg. Had a tourney on Waconia last night and only a handfull of 4 Lb. + fish were brought in. So if you are having a hard time locating larger fish – join the club.

There are many factors but water temp seems to be the key Andy…Around here its 65-70 degrees. They are just starting
    up here.
