So for the past few days, I have been in search of a good smallmouth bite here in Stevens Point out on the Wisconsin River-only problem being that I am fishing from shore. So I headed to a good looking spot below one of the dams-and the bite was on! Fish are definitely in pre-spawn mode . Most fish are between 14-20 inches that I have been getting. In the past 24 hours, I have tallied over 60 smallies combined. And just for BK, I caught a couple of channel cats also
All fish were coming on an 1/8 oz. Bug-a Boo jig with a netbait paca chunk for a trailer-absolutely deadly on those big females and aggresive males! Fish are holding in shallow water and in big schools. Where you find one, you catch a bunch more in the same spot.
Get after them while they are still hot! Tight lines
