What is the DNR’s reasoning for requiring a spearing license for citizens between the age of 65 and 88. If it is for revenue why not just require everyone to have a spearing license. I seriously doubt that there are 50 people age 89 or over that spear fish in Minnesota. Until this year a spearing license wasn’t required for people 65 or older. My Congressman couldn’t believe such a regulation was enacted.

The way I read it they pretty much DO require everyone to have a spearing license. Only folks exempt are those under 18 years of age and those over 89 years of age.

I understand nearly everyone needs a license. Why stop at age 89 when there are almost no spearers at that age?
