I’m in the process of buying a new Alumacraft Competitor 185 Tiller. We fish everything from small lakes to Lake Michigan. Pan fish, bass, muskie, walleye, salmon. I’m getting 2 Helix 8’s. Trying to decide if I should put both on the tiller console, or one on the bow and one in the back. I will have MDI and MSI linked with an Ulterra. Anyone have similar setups and can discuss the pros and cons of each set up? I like the idea of having both on the console next to each other, but sometimes I fish alone and will be on the dance floor casting. Not sure if I will want to run to the back of the boat to check the graphs all of the time. Then again, if I’m on the bow casting, I’m thinking it will be in shallow water around the bank and may not need to see them at all. Any suggestions?

Check out the Ram two pivot mount. I run this with HDS 12 back at the tiller and it can easily be swung around to view from bow. It’s actually the only graph in my 16 foot tiller. Obviously the larger the screen the better when trying to see it from the bow. Personally if I had two graphs I would mount one at the bow, but I also fish up there 90 percent of the time.

Thanks for the reply. I accidently posted this twice thinking it didn’t post when I got an error message. Tried to delete it, but couldn’t find a way. I got some ideas on the other post. I’m going to mount them in the back and have an additional RAM mount with power added up front. Then, I can move one if I want and/or add a third graph when I can afford it in the future.
