I have a HDS 3 12″, and a HDS GEN 2 9″ side by side, they are networked together, should I be able to see the live mapping on my Gen 2, If so , I can’t find what settings that need to be changed.

anybody have it setup that it works?

Contact Lowrance they will get back to you fast. I feel like I asked them before when I was looking at a gen 3 and they said it should work.

I dont believe you can because the GEN 2 because of the software cant do it.

My understanding is that the live mapping (SonarChart Live) will only work and be shared if the network consists of only Gen3 or Carbon units. It won’t work if you have Gen 2 Touch or older units on the network.

It can only be shared on Gen 3 and Carbon units

No it cannot be shared on any of the Lowrance units thru the network

I have all Carbon and Gen3 units. I am able to share my SonarCharts Live mapping across all three of the Lowrance units I have on my ethernet network. It works extremely well.

It works on my gen 3 units. I think it only records on the one with the mapping card but will display on other networked units.

I have three units on my network. From what I’ve seen, it will record and share as long as one of the units on the network, even one without the chip in it, is set to overlay SonarCharts Live. I used my bow unit and helm unit (which has the chip in it) to view CMAP Genesis charts, and left my rear unit on with SonarCharts Live overlay running while I built up my map coverage. I got full SonarCharts Live coverage of the areas I fished, with all the units able to display the mapping afterward.
