Sonar camera options

I am considering upgrading and exploring options. Has vexilar, Marcum, or Garmin announced a new lineup for this year? I have a habit of buying the latest gear only to have it replaced by improved technology one week later.
I’d hate to buy a RT9 combo only to see its price drop a day later.

I am considering a RT9 camera pack or a Garmin Panoptix. Is the panoptix a bad investment being that it is still the first generation model? It seems it’s too expensive so there are not many reviews. Anyone have it for ice fishing?

Anyone have the rt9 with camera? I think the resolution is 720p. Does it run Windows like a standard tablet? Not that I plan on playing World of Warcraft on my ice fishing sonar, but can it download any app or program off the internet? Or is it a dedicated platform strictly for maps and ice fishing software?

I currently have a 5 year old vexilar combo which is great but vexilar seems to be selling the same exact models still. For a 480p camera, vex is a solid choice but marcum offers better now. Vexilar is still the brightest flasher though. Uncut angling proved it.

I’m also leaning on getting the Honda four stroke auger. I have an older 50v electric strikemaster in 10″ but will likely sell it. I have a brand new battery for it and the original battery. The problem is its discontinued so I can’t buy more batteries or parts. Also it sucks to sharpen the blade and stupid expensive to replace. I think I want a gas auger for late ice on big lakes where my presence will cause record setting cold winters.

If you want the latest and greatest, get the panoptixs live scope. Just need to rig it for ice fishing. If you want a camera, get the HD Marcum. Hopefully the mapping on the garmin will suffice for you. But depends on where you fish. Have you contacted strikemaster about replacement parts for your 50v?
