    3 things
the high price of beef I use ground turkey aside from a finer texture I see no taste difference and at $1.89 a pound can’t go wrong.

I love my spicy/hot chlli but at times the heat gets in the way of the flavor of the spices and the peppers and the gravy/sauce.
Made a batch yesterday and it turned out great but after a while the heat seems to dissipates and adding hot sauce creats heat but takes away the original flavor and making it more like the hot sauce. To fix that roasting jalapeno and sereno peppers over a burner then adding them as a garnish with a some hot hot sauce rejuvenate d the heat with flovor.
NEXT THING new to me was I was given a big bag of dried cranberies so tonght a brainstorm, try them in the chili.
Man what a surprise I got.
Keep in mind a few dried cranberries go a long way.
    This is what I did
Heated chili to temp added roastes peppers and hot sauce to pan then added a few dried crannberies and let steep a bit to hydrate

    The result blew my mind.

First bite I got a cranberry thought that was interesting and good with a bit of sweetness but where was the heat? Next 3 to 4 spoonfules no crannberies and the heat came on with a touch of flovor and sweetness of the crannberry with the origanal flavor of sace/gravy taking front and center. Then the next bite was with a cranberry soothing things back down. It was like this there was this up that spicy hot chili gives us then a leveling of period that was welcomed then another up. Back and forth back and back and forth coming back for more and wanting.

I think I found the perfect recipe for the lonely guy or someone in a stagnent relationship or the fix to over population or a divorse in the making.

Food is fun. I’ve never added craisins to chili, but it sounds interesting. I use them in a lot of veggies. Bacon/craisin green beans. Bacon/craisin brussel sprouts. Bacon/craisin peas. Notice a theme?

High price of beef. No kidding.

Some of my relatives usually have a big prime rib dinner the opening weekend of deer season.

Due to the price of beef, they were joking about having to cut the budget and go with something down-market like lobster and crab legs instead.

The stuck with the program, but this year the Rib was over $300.

Sorry, hadn’t checked back on this one. I’m not sure what they serve exactly. They do a pretty big dinner for their party and all the neighbors, they hold it in the machine shed the crowd is so big.

I’m at my own property that weekend, so I didn’t see the final result. They were just talking about beef prices one weekend during pheasant season when they had just placed the order for the rib. I believe the final tally was almost $400.

From what I’ve read, we shouldn’t look for prices to come down anytime soon.
