solid rear end

I have a Yamaha grizzly with independent rear suspension that when hooking the fish house to squats really bad. I use the machine during ice season exclusively for slow towing the fish house around. Does anyone here know of solid replacement struts that would replace the rear shocks? I also have a front tow ski that eliminates the squat, but I actually need that tounge weight for traction sometimes. Thanks.

Have you tried the Ice Castle tow ski?

Like I said in OP, I have a tow ski, on snow covered glare ice I need the tounge weight of the trailer to give me the added traction since my machine is fairly light. I’m just looking to eliminate the squat wihen adding the tongue weight.

Put chains on the Grizzly & a tongue dolly for the house.

    Sorry bout that C-R-C.
I have a Grizzly and it has adjustments on the shocks/springs, however I run chains on all fours and never seem to have much problem.
I also try to distribute weight accordingly for tongue weight.

Ratchet strap from lower A-arm end to A-arm end on the underside and synch it tight. It makes it so wont let the A-arms flex. Done this many of times hauling trailers.

Kolpin also makes a version of this out of steel now.
Do a google search for “Kolpin 85200”. I tried to post a link but can not get it to work.

We have a winner ^^^^. Do this. Easy temp fix with a strap.

How much tongue weight is your machine rated to handle? If it is squatting that much, maybe you are overloading the components. I’d be afraid of breaking something, especially if everything is bottomed out or locked solid so it can not move.

    I googled Kolpin 85200.

Looks like it could potentially inflict a bit of damage upon a machine.

Why? I haven’t tried this kit but it does the same thing that the ratchet strap I use does. Definitely not for trail riding. Slow towing only.

IMHO – Its too ridged, a strap might tear before any damage is done.
I’d have a hard time believing Yamaha would honor their warranty if they knew that was attached.

Out of warranty, only slow towing, I have tracks so chains are not an option, I will look into the kolpin device, or have welded up some stuts that I can remove when desired. These independent suspension machines have decent towng capacity but suck when it comes to tongue weight.

I checked out the kolpin device, looks promising, thanks

Thanks for that 85200 idea although I kinda hate putting that much weight on it.
