Solera Help

My wife and I are looking to order a Solera. The price of the 189 is very attractive but I have a few questions to anyone who may own one. Does the 150 SHO idle down to a slow enough speed too troll with effectively. Does anyone know what speeds they can get at idle with the motor?

Does the single axle trailer work well?

I also know you can mount a Helix 10 above the 7 on the dash and was looking to see what people are doing for that.

We also have a family of 5 and wondering if we would need the 205.

Any regrets or things people would change on the boat before we Buy?

    Love the single axel.

Trolling with the 150. I have trimmed up and idled to troll but most of my trolling has been done with a upgraded Ultera. If you are a heavy duty troller, I would recommend a kicker.

Idle speed was at 2-2.5 mph (I’m on the river so it changes)

We’ve had 5 adults and one 5 year old in comfortably. We weren’t fishing and the center step is removed.

I wish the bimini top was longer and set up front further. Otherwise both the FW and I are very happy with it. Skeeter Boat Center (Dean) will make sure you have the right boat before you walk out the door…and the service is nothing less than outstanding.

PS Homemade cookies will get you the best discount.

    Kyle,
5 people can mean alot of different things. If we are talking 5 adults 90% of the time in a 18 ft boat, I dont believe it is big enough.

If we are talking 2 adults and a couple small 50# children 2 or 3 times a year then I believe you will be just fine !

I also suggest you ask yourself how I actually use the boat 75% of the time and will that change in the near future ?

    Good Luck !

I just ordered the 205, I went with the kicker. I will be happy to help anyone with any questions once I get the boat.

Please post pictures. I have been trying to get my wife to work over time so we can get one. I dream about owning one some day.
