Soft plastics storage

I’m curious how you guys store your plastics. Do you just consolidate by color in freezer bags? Tackle box dedicated to them? Need to figure out a better way than what I currently do.

I just use one of the standard Plano clear storage boxes without dividers. That way you can leave them in the package. Still allows you to put in a soft side bag or whatever you normally use.

I stopped trying to sort them one way or the other. I simply keep all of mine in an old drawstring backpack. That works best for me because I do just as much shore fishing as I do in a boat. Usually do keep a few “go to” colors out separate to keep it simple while fishing, but for the most part theyre all stuffed in a bag with the pliers, scissors, and a flashlight.

Best thing I’ve used to date.

Has anyone tried a tackle binder?

Soft side bag with the bags of plastics inside. This year I plan on consolidating them by color somewhat. Right now they are just loose in there lol

I keep going back to the same system. Big soft bag, gallon heavy zip lock bags, original packaging, sorted by type and size.

Exactly how I do mine now.

X3 on going back to soft bags. A few years back I went to trays that kept similar plastics in trays. But last year I started going back to bags, bag for Mississippi plastics, bag for bass, more like a gunny sack and smaller bag that has the plastics that are my current favorites.

I bought a bunch of husky deposit bags from Home Depot last summer. I can get about 10 bags of plastics in them. Someone on the forum recommended this and it works great. I label the outer and know where everything is.

Home Depot had these for like $3 last summer.

I just throw them in my tackle box or a soft sided bag.

When you buy plastics in bulk, do you use any kind of lube to keep them fresh in a ziplock?

NO – just don’t mix with other colors or brands

Glad my recommendation is working out for you! I’ve tried everything under the sun for plastics and this is the only one that keeps me organized. It also prevents me from bringing 100lbs of plastics with everytime I go out. And if I plan to take a quick trip in the Kayak I just need to grab a couple bags and go.

I do still keep a few Plano’s with things like Jig’n Pig trailers and my most common worms, all that I buy in bulk. They stay in Plano’s mainly for quick and easy access and they are almost always sitting on the boat deck, it’s harder for a 5lb plano box to fly away than a 2oz bag.

I have also found the bags work great for tons of other things like tools, paperwork, etc., I keep finding more uses for them.

Do they still sell this? If so could you give the link? I see they have a 12 inch document bag is that the same thing?
    Thanks,
    Scott

Have a Plano box myself and it doesn’t not blow away. Must weigh near 50 pounds and doubles as my anchor.

The bass mafia money bags work well. They a pressure seal and zipper. They’re clear so I can see exactly what’s inside.

I did the large zip-lock freezer bags for a while but kept breaking the zipper. Also did the 3700 deal but didn’t care for those. Also tried the plastic shoebox type storage too but that was too cumbersome.

I keep my plastics in 8 mid-sized plastic tubs, labeled with stickers from TW: Worms, Craw, Drop-shot, Flukes, Ned, Neko, Swimbaits, Trailers. Accommodates those blasted clam-shell packages!

The problem of course is we keep buying more plastics. I just got back from Chicago fishing show and bought three bags. whistling
