Anyone else getting jealous of seeing all these monster walleyes being taken out of Lake Erie, green tributaries and the rainy on social media…. Its killing me because I do not have the time to make one of those trips happen.

I’m in the same camp with bradl110 on this too. Seeing all the posts/reports here and FB and other social “brag boards”, I am also envious to a degree as well. Not in an evil, spiteful, manner…but just wishing to have the time, resources (money) and available access to do such. I’d love to get out now, however my boat is still tucked away in a garage up across the road from Mille Lacs. Not that easy to go fetch it and not much point now being that the traditional “opener” isn’t for a month yet. For sure itching to get out now, just not always that simple for some of us.
Just have to experience vicariously I suppose… neutral

I’ve run into some nice eyes on the rivers here in the twin cities already this year. Might not be fast and furious like the places you mentioned but you can find them in the area too. If you’ve got the itch go scratch it.

Yes, yes I am jealous.. This is the first year, in the last 6, that I haven’t gone with the guys out to Erie. This was the year to buy a new house which the FW and I are in the middle of right now. I usually go for 9 days and its always been a blast! Wind can blow, but you can’t plan the weather.. It’s pretty amazing, the walleye fishery it is out there. The Hogs are plentiful. We go to Port Clinton and rent a condo for 8 nights, pretty cheap for 6-8 guys, 3-4 boats, everyone splits gas and food. I’ll admit it gets expensive when you have a blow day and go visit the local Moose Lodge or The Bell Mell Tavern for a day or two, but always a blast! Next Year, I’ll be back!!

That is why one does not do that! Go fishing instead. Head for the Sandusky river and wader fish on the days you can’t get out on the lake. I drove 10 hours to fish, not drink.
