Anybody read the new report out from someone at Yale that we are just entering the front-end of a mini-ice age expected to last the next 200 years?

Maybe just a different stir-the-pot extremist trying to counterbalance the global alarmists…

so I heard on the radio yesterday that 16 or the last 17 years have been the warmest on record and that the last 3 years in a row have broken the record for avg global temperature. I also hear and read of many people debunking these statistics or saying they are inaccurate. I don’t pay much attention to this issue so my question is this, how can this be such a disputed subject? It seems to me that measuring the avg global temp for a year should be a pretty cut and dry process – you analyst the data, you come up with a number, and you compare that number to previous years. Im sure I sound ignorant, as ive said I don’t keep up with this discussion but I am curious how there comes to be such varying opinions on whether the earths temp is rising or not. I guess maybe the dispute is not so much on whether the earth is warming up but rather on whether or not it matters?
