I am looking at replacing my antique 1 man sled with a 2 seater for my wife and I.
I primarily want it for pulling the fish house.
Any advice on what to look for.

The ideal ice fishing sleds in my experience are air cooled 2 up machines with studs. Air cooled for cooling in low snow. Studs along the hyfax for lubrication and traction. I’d also spend the money to have it geared down and to put in heavy duty rear springs. Should be able to find a good one for $2-3K if not less. If you have an atv for low snow,…than a water cooled machine offers more power. johndee.com has a good midwest online sales board and a fabulous tech board. Good luck.

Hello Tom. I am not a snowmobile expert by any means. I did purchase a new Yamaha VK540 snowmobile this year for a utility/ fishing snowmobile. I did a lot of research and most people I talked to said this is a bulletproof snowmobile and engine. I only have 34 miles on mine so very little use but I like it so far. It has a 20 inch wide x 156 inch track with 1.5” lugs. Not sure if you are looking for a 4 stroke or 2 stroke? I went 2 stroke based on my needs and the fact that I won’t put a ton of miles on it trail riding. The snowmobile has high, low, and reverse. This is the same sled that Aaron uses on Uncut angling also if you watch any videos of his.
