Have like 6 or 10 for me please. I am jealous
Yeah that Bud Grant story was dang wild. Didnt they end up staying at a bar or gas station or something? They also got separated and though the other kid died only to find each other days later? Man that would make a great movie.
Sorry, I don’t know how to re-post that.
There was the article in the paper on Armistice day
Just checked the latest runs of the ECMWF and GFS. When using the 10:1 snow ratio both are predicting around 7-8″. Adjusting for the 15:1 and 18:1 ratio, that puts us at 12-14″ more snow ahead.
It also appears as though people in north central WI will get about double that of you consider another storm coming Monday.
another storm coming Monday
I just saw that too. Sunday night into Monday looks like another low pressure system. But the temps, at least during a portion of it, may be so warm it could fall as rain.
I took Friday off to clear snow at the cabin. The less snow the more fun I get to have sledding!! Im removing fishing from the activity list this weekend.
It looks like the snow is moving in sooner than expected. Not snowing here yet, but looks to be soon.

What I think is so dumb that they feel the need to name a winter storm. Why is that necessary?I am pretty sure they are naming heat waves in the summer now too.
And why not? The FW names my farts.

That’s two of the ingredients to make a nuclear weapon.
It’s been mostly blowing snow here but I see now that a little heavier band of the crap is coming up from the south. It’s still only 20 degrees and what snow is falling is relatively dry and light in texture. Really small flakes.
The snow, as well as the wind seems to have picked up intensity the last 15 minutes or so!!
Hey BK,
What’s the name of your best 1?
Ok now I’m curious too. EPG you must be taking it easy, its been an hour and a half and your posts still make sense.

I think we found the recipe for endless energy! Nuclear Fusion, BK style!
Might be a good couple days to try out different old fashioned recipes.
Ok I’m going to go ahead and say it. I recently got into Bourbon in the last few years kinda big time, but have yet to have an old fashioned.
0″ here on the Hill overlooking Lake Superior in Duluth. Had maybe an inch yesterday morning. I’ve gotta drive down to UW Stout on Friday morning, so would you guys please make sure they get 35/694/94 cleared for me
I gave “Miss Mary’s” Old Fashioned mix a try for the Super Bowl, not bad for a premade mix I have to say. Muddle away John R!!
My recipe is as follows:
In a mixing glass, add:
2-3 tsp of honey
1 strip of orange rind
1 maraschino cherry
1 tsp of the cherry juice
1 dash of bitters
2 oz of bourbon
Muddle the orange rind and cherry and mix well until honey is combined.
Add another 1 oz of bourbon, add crushed ice and stir to mix. Stir until frost forms on the outside of the mixing glass.
Add 1 cocktail ice cube to a old fashioned glass. Strain into cocktail glass and garnish with another strip of orange rind and a cherry. Squeeze the orange rind over the glass before serving.
This is all starting to look like another instance of Weather terrorism.
For our area, the forecast of snow from yesterday for my specific location was 5-7 inches. My measurement as of noon was 3.5 at most. Looking online, I can’t even find a report that actual snowfall was anywhere near 5-7 nearby.
Today’s forecast calls for 8 inches in the next 24 hours. We’ll see…
5 inches yesterday what was predicted. Big lull like they thought. Snowing hard now and looks like it will till mid day tomorrow.
SE MN about 20 miles north of Rochester.
It’s a Flippin blizzard around here. And just getting started.
No way the main Hwy stays open for long at this rate. My half mile driveway is already plugged
Stay home unless it’s an emergency and even then, not sure anybody is going anywhere real soon.
Checking 511 roads are closed down by Sioux falls into Minnesota!
Apparently drier air has snuck into this system and Roch is now downgraded from 10″-17″ to 5″ to 8″ today/tonight.
I’m seeing the wind as a huge factor here in town. I can’t imagine what its like once a person hits the countryside. This has been lighter, drier snow and blowing will really get ramped up as the wind increases now.
This is what all my window facing NE look like here in SW WI. Probably quarter inch of ice on my driveway covered up with an inch of sleet.
