Snowbirds where do you go

My in-laws have been snowbirds for the last 18 winters. They’ve pulled their 36′ 5th wheel down and back each year.
The first 3 winters they tried Florida, Texas and Arizona for about 2 months. Not enough lakes in AZ for my FIL to fish. so that was eliminated.

Then one of their best friends bought a permanent place near Sebring, FL, about 85 miles south of Orlando. They found a great place with lots of Canadians and other snowbirds from all over the upper midwest.

They have been back to the same lot in the 55+ community ever since. They are 2 hours from the beaches on either coast. He has tons of lakes to fish within 30 minutes and is only 90 minutes from Okeechobee.

They now head down at Thanksgiving, and come back the first week of May.
After having visited them a half dozen times over the years, I am pretty convinced I will be doing something very similar when I end up pulling the pin.

Port Aransas, Tx. for the last few years. Hurricane Harvey made a mess of things here, but gradually it’s coming back. Lots of condos are still ripped down to just the shell, but the RV parks seem to be all up and running. This year we found a house with main floor king master, 3 double beds upstairs, 2 bathrooms, full kitchen, washer & dryer, satellite tv, internet, A/C for $1200 monthly Jan & Feb, $1400 March. Spring break makes it hard to get decent prices in March but as the rebuilding progresses that should improve. 20 miles of driveable beach, fishing the surf, the jetty, the ship canal from shore, a harbor with lots of charters for bay or Gulf fishing.

I second PA Texas!! My folks went there 6-7 years in a row right up until the hurricane. Then been going to lake havasu Arizona since. I’ve visited them both places several times. I really liked port aransas. Had a cool island vibe to it. Lots of fishing options. I liked the deep sea charters, and fishing in the ship canal. Those black drum fight like crazy! Lots of cheap dining, and a lot of shopping for the girls.

Port Isabel Texas for us. Golf and great fishing for Redfish and Speckled Trout. Have friends in Scottsdale Az.that we will visit come march.
Really no desire to ever go to Florida unless it’s the keys.
The Mississippi gulf coast is beautiful, pine trees and warm weather.
    Hilton Head is really nice.
Just travel, don’t buy anything right away. Just scope out places online. Lots of nice places for under 2 grand a month.
