Anybody else come across these? I don’t recall ever encountering these before. Found a 50×50 area covered in them. More concentrated on our around my footprints. Did a Google search to confirm. There was billions of them!

I’ve seen them a bunch of times on warmer days (with snow)

Pretty cool little critters, and they’re harmless.

I’ve seen snowmen scratching themselves and on close inspection you find snow fleas

What about snow cones? It’s so hot in Florida he probably eats lots.

The whole area looked gross. We watched em for a couple minutes. Just bouncing everywhere.

Pug does live in the state of the current NHL champs. That’s kind of wintery.

I have never seen them either. Did you just glance down and notice them ?
Was it in your yard, field or in the woods ?

Just looked them up. They are not an insect and are more closely related to crustaceans. They produce a protein that acts like anti freeze so they are active all winter. They feed on leaf litter.

Was walking through a low area next to a pond. The ground up ahead was grey, and looked odd. Then it looked like maybe tiny seeds blown out in the wind. Then I looked closer and started itching! jester
