    Hi All,
Heading up to Polk County next weekend for hopefully a bit of fishing, but am starting to wonder if the 4 wheeler is going to handle the snow. Anyone have some intel on the snow amounts on the lakes? Can a wheeler chew thru it?

    Thanks in advance

Bounced Around Polk last week into the weekend. Sunday was the last day I was out(during snow).I was able to go off the trail but did get stuck half dozen times. Bring a couple shovels..
    And good luck!

Evidently it’s tough right now. My dad had a lake plowed so we can get to it this weekend. Bigger lakes that the wind can his I’m guessing will be your best option. Or find someone with a snowmobile.

We were able to get around last Saturday in the Cumberland area with 4X4 1/2 ton pickups. There was a good amount of snow though. They got another 6 plus inches on Sunday and more snow this week. I would guess the lakes will be tough this weekend if not on a plowed road. From Hudson to Cumberland appears to have similar amounts of snow. As others have said, bring a shovel.

I live on the Barron Polk county line and was out on Upper Turtle Lake in Barron county yesterday. I have a Ram 1/2 ton with air suspension and went off the trail with no problem. There also was a chev 1/2 ton on the other side of the lake that also was driving off the trail with no problem The snow depth was anywhere from 16 inches to 24 inches, but it was light enough to go through it with out getting stuck.
