What rod does everyone use to pull snap weights with out planer boards? Do they make a decent line counter out there for lefties? Also mono, fluoro, or braid? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

I use snap weights on leadcore often, up to 4 ounces, to get separation between baits. I don’t think you need any type of special rod unless you plan to run really heavy ones. I run jason mitchell lead core rods. I’ve also run snaps on my regular trolling rods, which are all Shimano Compres, and my salmon board rods which are all shimano TDRs. I run all braid.

I have not seen a decent left hand retrieve line counter ever. I believe that somebody made one, but don’t remember who, and I don’t think it was any good.

Just get a trolling rod medium-heavy so you can see if your lure is foul. And as for reel, I’m also a lefty and I have these on all mines. I love them.
