Once upon a time about 30 years ago, I was bank fishing and pulled my stringer up to put on another big Red Ear. Hanging off the end of the stringer was a great big water moccasin chowing down on half a Red Ear in his mouth. When I pulled him up out of the water I’m not sure which one of us was the most surprised. Soon as I dropped that stringer he was able to extricate himself off the fish and swam off like greased lightning as I quickly departed the other direction. I changed spots right after that. Come to think of it, I haven’t been back to that same spot since.
