I have a 4′ X 6′ smokehouse on a trailer. I’m looking to get some sort of thermometer that will allow me to monitor the temp inside the cabinet along with internal meat temp. Of course the probes need to be long enough 8′ would be nice. Needs to be water and heat proof. Wireless would be a plus. Anything out there that you guys use? Thanks.

Jim R. I’ve seen yours. Is that water proof? Thanks guys. Shawn

General Parts in Mpls does restuarant equipment parts. They would be a source for a new part. Otherwise go online and search “Southern Pride Smokers” and see if you can buy direct from them.

I ordered it directly from the manufacturer. “Thermoworks.”

Most all of the cabled temp probes are short and not water proof at the connection that is where the crimp is to the stainless steel probe. You may have to buy as an accessory a longer cord. My longest cord is 6ft.

My cords are 4 foot cords. These will work for me. Ya longer would be nicer. I do wish they were water proof though. Although I am just using in the smoker so I should be ok with that. Just need to remember when cleaning up. Dried venison in the curing stage. About 55#. Smoking Will be done on Monday!

The company of this product states construction is moisture resistant but the do not recommend full immersion of the cables. They do offer a probe for water bath or into simmering pots. Also a probe to immerse into deep fryer.

Thermometer worked great, never lost signal and is very accurate. Dried looks like it turned out good. Taste test tomorrow after resting.
