Smaller lakes around Minocqua have 4 – 6 inches. Could get messy mid-week with 5 to 10 inches of snow in the forecast.

I got on the ice in Bayfield county on some of the backwoods ponds last Friday before the deer opener. Had a good 3 inches and then some refreeze on top for another .5. With the warm up Sunday I could feel a lot of the swamps we were in and frozen solid the day before start to soften a lot so I would be pretty hesitant. I don’t think it froze from sat at 12 until at least Monday when we left. It doesn’t look like the weather will help for a few more days.
