Small Game Hunting with compound bow?

  • #1549987

Many have done it and we all fantasize about it…especially during deer season.
You’re sitting in your stand or blind and you hear leaves rustling in the distance, *Shuffle shuffle shuffle* *pause* *shuffle shuffle shuffle* the rustling sound gets closer everytime, your heart is racing and your eyes are focused in the general area, you then see movement and quickly grab your bow…its a damn squrriel. lol
who else gets that urge of just poking one of those critters while bow hunting or just bow hunting small game for more of a challenge? Would you use the same arrows, broad heads, bow? Thanks you guys!

I always carry an arrow with a judo tip in my quiver.

Often think about it, but at about 30 bucks per arrow that pretty much stops any desire to actually try.

What kind of arrow are you shooting that costs $30 a piece?

Whole combo at 30, Cx maximas 12, Montec broadheads 12, lighted nocks 3, if you round up to cover what ive spent on fletchimg jig, glue, vanes, etc its just under 30 bucks a piece. Now if I could pop a coyote, I’d waste the arrow for that.

I’d bring a separate cheaper one like u said with a judo but my luck id have it on and ready to pop a tree rat when the big one would decide to show up.

I’ve limited out on squirrels AND deer from the same stand, on the same morning. Fun times

I’ve usually shot Bear razor heads and re-sharpening heads is much cheaper than replacing them
