Looking at starting a small multi species fishing league with a couple buddies. Having a hard time finding any kind of points format online. Looking at doing a bi-weekly or monthly meet. Any formats out there you guys know of please send them my way. Thanks.

For a Multi species league with a group of buddies I’d keep it rather simple. Maybe something like total weight with a 3 Bass, 3 northern, 3 walleye, and say 10 panfish limit. To keep points for a team of the year I’d just award points for weekly place based on # of teams. If 10 teams – 1st place gets 10 points, 2nd gets 9. 3rd gets 8 – all the way to the final place getting 1 point. To make it fun I’d have a side big fish pot. You could change the big fish each tourney. One week make it big bass. The next maybe big panfish. That would keep it fun and interesting. Also give each team a chance to do well on the species they fish the best. Hope it works out for you. Good luck and have fun !!!!

My nephew does a fun multi species tourney with his friends.

Biggest bass (SM or LM) + biggest walleye – smallest pike = Winner

If you don’t catch all three species you’re out.

Not even sure if we are gonna put money in this. Maybe just a small bragging trophy at end of year. Just looking to get info on points formats people are using. Probably will be catch photo, measure release. Might not even weigh them. Any ideas as how that would work?

We have a Small Thursday night fishing league here in Winona that we have been doing for years. We use a nightly points System 15″ Walleye= 10 Points, 20″ Catfish = 10 points, 24″ Northern = 10 points Then add 5 points for every 1″ fish is larger. We just measure and Release them when you catch them and everybody gives their tally at the end of the night. Works good for us and no permit issues with not bringing in fish.

Google Twin Cities fishing league. I know there are a few multi species leagues around the cities. That’ll be a starting point
