I have a Gen. 1 solix 15 with a through hull transducer I fish the Western basin of Lake Erie and Lake Ontario when I’m in 30′ of water or less my fish marks look like they should but when I get in to the deep water of Lake Ontario 100′ plus my fish marks are less than a quarter of an inch long I’ve even zoomed in looking at the specific area of the water column were fishing and it doesn’t change them. Any help is appreciated.

In the picture that you posted, it is definitely a matter of scale with over 240′ of water. When you say that you zoomed in on specific area of water column, does that mean you set an upper and lower range? When I do that it makes my screen images much larger. It is very common for me to fish in water depth near 200’+ but I only actually fish in the 40′ – 80′ depth so I bracket that with my upper and lower range limits.

Yes I set a upper and lower range and it does not change there size.
Example. If temp is at 90 feet. I’ll set the upper to 40 and the lower at 150. Fish Mark’s are still the same as the picture I posted about 1/4 inch

Humminbird is sending a new transducer. My only issue is it’s a thru hull and I’d like to make sure that’s the issue before replacing it. I have sent them pictures of it in 30 fow and then over 100 fow. And they cant give me a answer to what’s causing it.

Where do you have your sensitivity set during that photo? I have to turn mine way up in deep water.

It’s on 10 any higher and the screen has all kind of noise.

Here is something to think about.

The specs of a new Solix 15 is 1280 Horizontal Pixels by 800 Vertical Pixels.

So, in 200 feet of water a foot square is 4 PIxels high and based on your speed of travel and update setting 6 pixels wide.

The other thing to think about is that the screen image is all history, the only real tine is the strip on the far right.

I am a humminbird guy also and have 2 helix G1 9’s, take it out of auto and try setting your lower limit up. I cant tell from your picture what the depth range is but it looks like something in excess of 200 ft.
