Have a Humminbird 787 and it takes anywhere from 15 to 45 min. to start up. Is this common with this model and can I do anything for it. Did call Humminbird and they want $247 to repair. Thw unit is out of warranty but this seems like a little to much for a repair?

Please forgive me if this sounds overly basic but is your unit’s software up to date? 15 – 45 minute start up times isn’t slow… that’s glacial. My first instinct is to install the most current software update for the unit and see if that doesn’t help. It sure sounds like you’ve got a software conflict at the heart of your issue.
