I’m trying out braid as my main line after using mono for years. Today I was fishing crappie using a slip bobber and the bobber stop does not hold on the braided line. I tried hand tying it even. Is this a common issue? is there a trick to this or a different kind of bobber stop?

It’s been a while since I used braid/superlines for slipbobber fishing. Add a little mono to it. That should give you a little resistance, yet can still slide when you need to change depths.

Add a strand of rubber spinner bait skirt just up from your other bobber stop. Just tie it on the braid with 3 over hand knots. Problem solved.
