I’m looking to get a good slip bobber rod for this upcoming fishing season. I would like to get something that is 7’6″-8′. The problem is I only have rod storage to 7′ in my boat. I know, I told the wife we need a new boat with longer rod storage. But after her look, I was looking for some advice. I’m not a fan of 2 piece rods but don’t have rod storage for long rod and I have little kids so I don’t want to get it broke. Is there any good two piece ones out there or just suck it up and baby the longer 1 piece? Any good rod suggestions would also be welcome.

    Thanks

That’s a good length range to be in for a bobber rod, look into if any manufacturers have a telescopic design to save you a couple of feet for storage?

any chance you can access the far end of the rod locker you have now??
if you can,use a hole saw and cut out a two inch hole.
line it with some foam or camper tape to protect the rod.
you might even think about drilling two holes side by side and cut out the middle creating an oval shape allowing you to put more than one rod in it

The 8’3” telescopic from Limit Creek makes a fantastic bobber rod. It has a soft enough tip to make sure your slack free before setting the hook without putting unwanted pressure on the fish and more then enough backbone to drive hooksets home from far distances.

I looked at them and I think I have a winner winner chicken dinner. I liked the limit creek rods. Will work perfectly.
