I just received this new lite wight upper and it doesn’t have a sling attachment. What are the options in this scenario?

This hole allows for a one point sling attachment.

    check out this company: https://savvysniper.com/

They’re a bit spendy but top-notch quality. I have one on my SCAR17 and it’s great. I’m sure they’d have something that would work with that upper.

Oh. Again learning something new. I was picturing something that clamped on both sides. I did not realize either of those holes can be used as connection. Thanks.

ps-hopefully I get the irons sighted in this weekend. Romeo 5 dot is on the way.
Then stash it away and never use…….:)

Looks like the handguard is M-Lok compatible also. Google “m-lok sling mount” or “QD sling mount” . Lot’s of options out there.

Single point slings are the only way to go IMO.

I suppose if I was “operating” it would be… jester

Might look odd when walking my dog!

That’s funny! I think I mentioned it before but an AR carbine is perfect for taking on my dog training walks up north. I alternate slinging it on my shoulders and using the carry handle.

One of the reasons I like the SavvySniper sling… can run it either as a two-point or single-point… and the easy adjustable length also comes in handy.

single point slings are fading in use and favor among instructors. I have magpul MS4’s on my AR’s, and about the only time I find the 1 point configuration useful vs the 2 point configuration is for switching from strong side to support side to shoot around cover/concealment during a drill; but a properly set up 2 point allows for the same transition.

I just received this new lite wight upper and it doesn’t have a sling attachment. What are the options in this scenario?

You can use the built in QD sockets on the rail for your forward point of attachment, or you can purchase an M-lok sling attachment of your choice (quick detach aka QD, HK hook style, etc)

What stock are you currently running on your lower, and do you have a position/attachment point in mind for your rear sling connection if you run a 2 point? A QD or HK hook endplate on the receiver is also a great spot for sling attachment as well. It’s all user preference.

I would avoid running a single point sling attached at the QD socket on your rail, the gun will want to hang barrel up. For single point slings, attached at the stock or on the endplate are the intended locations.

(I am not an expert by any means) I used a single point sling for exactly one weekend then I got tired of the gun hitting me in the crotch when hands free transitioning to handgun drills. I just use a simple magpul 2 point that is very adjustable – can be cinched down tight to the body or loosened very quickly

Magpul MS4 is convertible from a one to two point sling. Very quick adjustment and transitioning if need be.

I went with a Magpul MS1 2 point setup. Don’t have plans of “operating” anytime soon. We’ll see, depends how the coyotes respond to the call I guess. grin

He’s on the mean streets Woodbury’s south side.

Last week the cops got called because there were reports that a homeowner was going to paint his house a color that was not approved by the association.

    It’s a jungle out there.
