Hi everyone, I’m interested in renting a sleeper shanty in MN for the first weekend in March. We have a group of 4 people. We are mostly interested in walleye and perch. We would be staying in a sleeper shanty so a lake with a night bite is preferred. Do you have any recommendations for a lake and resort? Thanks for your help and good luck this winter!

Walleye season closes on 2/25/18 in Minnesota inland waters. So you would just be targeting perch? Parts of LOW will still be open for walleye, but that’d be about it.

Thanks for the heads-up! I’m from out of state and didn’t realize walleye closes on 2/25/18. That being the case, I’ll plan our weekend for either the 3rd or 4th weekend in February. Any recommendations for a lake/resort? Thanks again…

Not sure where you coming from but Big Stone lake would be another option. Sorry no Info. for you on a resort or rental house. I have a buddy who does real well on Big Stone.

Walleye is open on lake of the woods in March. I think we could go on and on about which resort to use. I used to go up annually in March and can tell you that mid-late March can be awesome.
