SL 190 Kickers and Downriggers

  • #1710153

Guys, got a SL190 with the 175 VMAX. I want to add a kicker to it. Anyone have a good idea on how to mount a kicker without making a mess? It would be great if it were removable. I would also like to install my downriggers from my old boat, but again, I don’t really want to screw up what is a great boat.

    Brad,

Any chance you have a picture of the back of the boat and rear part of top cap. Its been a while since I have seen a SL190 and cant recall off the top of my head what type of options we may have.

It is a great boat. Perfect for my family. Excellent for fishing (aside from mounting downriggers and kicker motors). Great for skiing and tubing. It trailers and runs great.

Doesn’t matter what it is. Can’t beat a boat. I currently have 4 of them, but this is my baby.

    Sorry for the late reply.
As for downriggers it looks like you would have 2 options. They do make a mount that would mount to the rails that are already on the boat. I wouldn’t have any concern with the rails being able to handle the weight its more of the bracket spinning on the rail that would concern me. Second option would be to mount a small track (6″) right behind the rails near the step pads and mount them to that. Would be removable other than the small track itself.

As for a kicker. I don’t think that can be easily done without a lot of modifications and custom mounting. I would maybe look into upgrading the bow trolling motor to a 36v or adding an engine mounted trolling motor. That would be the best options I could come up with.
