Some questions on the Skeeters. I will be looking to purchase one of these boats this spring. What years did Skeeter make each model?

I currently have a 14’flat with a short-shaft 15 yamaha. If I find a good deal on a boat without the kicker, will my ss motor work in the 18’ers?

Not sure about what years were what but here is a pic of kickers on a transom. Left is a 15″ shaft and right is a 20″ shaft. Not my boat but gives you some idea.

The 1880 stopped last year. This year (2010) is the first year for the 1850. They are fairly similar to each other so its not like a brand new model that still has some bugs.

Im not 100% sure on the ss motor. I believe it should work but will have to do some checking.

Feel free to give me a call or send me a message with any questions, would be glad to help ya out!!!

Hey Jerad! We didn’t run into each other over at AL Lake this summer and I don’t think we’ve talked since I got my Skeeter.

Cool to hear you’re looking at a new boat. I sent you a pm on the 1850. Feel free to give me a call if you’d like.

Sorry guys on the last post trying to do this from my phone!? Little off the subject here, but I just bought a t 8 to put on my 1880, and I’m just wondering if there’s any reason I would need a jack plate? Its just a manual tilt tiller, but I don’t see any reason I couldn’t just mount this on my transom?

That is why the transom is made that way. They call it a 2nd transom on the 1880 and now the 1850. Mine is mounted directly on it so no need for a jack plate or panther mount.

That’s what I was thinking, just wanted to make sure I wasn’t missing something? Thanks a lot!

You can look on the Skeeter website at the 1850 and see the one picture in the gallery that shows a kicker also. Should work fine.
