Does anyone know how many rods can you store in the center rod storage? Also, can you put some rods in the left side compartment/shelf? I usually like to have 12-14 rods in my boat and I’m concerned if there is enough room. Thanks.

I have the 1850 I believe 10 can go in the center and another 5 in the side compartment. I all depends if you want to take off the reels or leave them on. I go salmon fishing and there is always plenty of room but most time I pre rig them before I go and leave them together so when i get there at 3 in the morning I’m not trying to put them together. You can also put more rods on the other side compartment if you want but I never have had any reason to. The only negative is if you have 10 foot rods and the first eyelet is to big to fit into the tube, thats when they go in the side.

It is do-able. It wont leave a ton of extra space but I dont see why you wouldnt be able to do it. I should mention, rod socks are a must if your going to be putting that many rods in storage.
Like mentioned you will be able to get some in the side storage also. I usually put my most used rods in the center storage and my least likely to use rods in the side.

Feel free to hollar if you have any other questions!!!

Thanks guys. Also wondering – that open shelf/compartment on the passenger side – what do you use that for?

I usually keep the rods I’m most likely to use there, depending on what kind of fishing I’m doing. Spinning rods with jigs go in and out of there fine. Not a good space to try to keep a few bottom bouncer / 3 way rig rods.

If you meant the lower compartment with the door….that’s where I keep my bow and stern lights, couple of planer boards, kicker handle extension, paddle and boat hook.

The open shelf, I use for rods if I am carrying that many. If not, jackets, rain gear, snacks, jig boxes. pretty much anything that fits in it.

My friend just picked up WX1900 recently and he told me that the rod storage is to short for seven foot rods by couple inches. Is that possible? And if yes, how does it compare to storages in 1880 or 1850?
