Quick question: I’ve seen the specs for skeeter’s WX1850, WX1880, and WX1900. Seems like it’s the same exact hull. Can someone fill me in? Thanks.

I don’t know, but you can call the Skeeter Boat Center and they will tell you.

Will the 1850 still be rated for a 200hp?

Not from what I’ve read. It’s a 150HP hull/transom. Which should keep it down in a very competitive price range.

The 1880 is now the 1850 with a 150hp rating. WX1900 – a standout that brings a new level of styling, performance and functionality to Skeeter’s Deep-V Series line-up.
    WX1900 Specifications

    MSRP (with Yamaha F200): $51,770
    Length: 18’9”
    Beam: 7’11”
    Max HP: 200
    Fuel Capacity: 40 gals.
    Dry Weight: 1,800 lbs.
    Top Speed @ 6,000 RPM: 52.9 mph (2.78 mpg)
    Cruise Speed @ 3,500 RPM: 29.2 mph (4.87 mpg)

WX1900 is rated for Yamaha’s F200 25” shaft four-stroke engine to maximize the design attributes of the boat’s new performance hull, but that the boat also runs excellent with Yamaha’s popular F150 four-stroke.
Sporting a 95” beam, and measuring in at 18’9” in length, the WX1900 has ample interior room for fishing and other on-the-water activities. An interior depth of 23.5” is perfect for choppy water, while the model’s 13” draft allows for easy access to the shallows.

The WX1900 comes standard with modular walk-through consoles; Skeeter tandem axle trailer with disc brakes, spare tire with carrier, swing-away tongue, ultra-silver wheels and torsion axles; two Humminbird 728 fish finders (bow and dash) with transducer and temperature probe, and a Minn Kota Terrova 24V, 60” shaft trolling motor with 80 lb. thrust, auto pilot, universal sonar and removable mount.
The dash features a Cockpit Command Center with push button custom gauges, including tachometer, volt, fuel, water pressure and trim. A 12 V accessory plug and tilt hydraulic steering are added comforts.

Plenty of storage can be found throughout the WX1900, including a built-in step/cooler, center rod box, side rod storage and shelf. With dual live-wells (bow and stern), and a rear bait-well, anglers have what they need for a full day on the water. A live-well control system with independent fill, recirculation and drain modes comes standard.

Passengers can ride and fish in comfort, as the driver’s chair features a locking swivel, seat slider and power adjustable pedestal. Two moveable passenger fishing chairs with power adjustable extension and locking swivel and two rear deck jump seats fit a maximum of six passengers.

A Minn Kota 15 amp x 3-battery charger with charging inlet and extension leads to the motor battery, 6 gauge tolling motor wiring system with 3 battery trays, interior lighting, auto/manual 800 GPH bilge pump, engine mount boarding ladder and Skeeter transom washer are performance and construction standards for every boater/angler.

The WX1900 can be upgraded with a host of options, including Yamaha Command Link, wrap-around windscreens, AM/FM stereo CD player, electronics packages from Lowrance or Humminbird, Oxygenator live-well aeration system, bike seat with power pedestal, ski tow bar and Yamaha kicker engine, among others.

Are 1st WX1900 should arrive soon and will have a new home with Dean at Everts. (Hopefully before Saugerama) Let Dean or myself know if you would like to set up a test drive when it gets here. Hope everyone is having a great week.

For the 1850, did anything change besides the name and rating?

What are the hull dimensions for the 1850?

And was the 1880 rated for 150hp or 200hp?

Skeeters website says the WX1850 is rated for a 200hp engine. Is that correct or a mistake on their behalf?

That’s what I’m confused about… The skeeter website lists the exact same hull specs for the 1850 and the 1900. From what I understand here, the 1850 used to be the 1880, which was rated for 200hp. If the 1880 and the 1850 are the same boat, why would the horsepower rating change? And do the 1850 and the 1900 actually have the same hull?

I appreciate the help understanding this. The 1880/1850 looks like a great boat.

    John,

I’m an 1880 owner, and for what it’s worth, I’ll give you my viewpoint. My 2007 1880 is rated for a 200, but….like most walleye guys, if you want to put a kicker on your boat, Skeeter wouldn’t rig it with a 200 4 stroke AND a kicker because of the weight issues. They would let you put a 200 hpdi and a kicker on because it isn’t as heavy, which is what I did. But for guys that wanted a 4 stroke main motor, the 150 was/is as big as you could go.
So now for this year they add the 1900. They make it a little deeper and beef up the transom. Now guys can put the 200 4 stroke AND a kicker on. And in an effort to make the 1850 different enough, they keep the same hull as the old 1880 and drop the rating down to 150. My guess is that the majority of 1880 owners put the 150 on their boat anyway, so it’s probably not a huge deal. Although if I were a new buyer and wanted the 200hp motor, I would be upset that I have to “buy up” to the 1900 and spend a lot more money.
My $.02. I hope it helped your understanding.

Those 1880’s will make a couple people VERY happy! For me it was a very tough decision between my 1950 and an 1880 w/ a 200. Both 1880’s are very nice looking boats with a lot of storage,a great layout, and as I found out with the 200 they scoot across the water pretty well .

If you’re fishing the Saugerama this is a good week to buy one too. Since this is a qualifying tournament for Skeeter’s Real Money program it could be worth up to $3000 additional for the winner!

Dan, I know you’re a busy guy. If you need one broke in for someone I’m here to help !!!

Crossin Eyes, you answered my question very clearly. Thanks! I like the slightly lower sides on the 1880 (I do a lot of casting), and the weight and transom issues make complete sense. Thanks again!

I’ve been hearing some rumblings that Yamaha’s new 4 strokes will compete with ANY 2 stroke on the market in weight, torque and speed. The way they’re getting the numbers gets me concerned a little though….A 9,0000+ RPM red line is what I heard. We’ll have to wait and see but they’re being tested right now. Yamaha doesn’t let anything hit the market till it’s tested to death so it should be good!!!

I’ve heard so many rumors from a number of different guys that claim to be in on this testing that I’ve resigned myself to just wait until they come out on the market and then let the average Joe weigh in on how they perform. But I couldn’t agree more… Yamaha has proven time and time again that they’re not about to test their products on the consumer. Whatever they do release will be a 2 stroke killer.

Have heard the same thing about the 9k red line. Not sure what prop your going to be running. They can make a motor, but it absolutely defies everything that is designed for how boats run currently. Another 1/3 higher RPM’s? The key issue will and has been HP/torque at different RPM ranges. I anxiously await seeing what will happen. Still skeptical for it to be a true performance engine as the the HPDI’s can be juiced pretty easily by HydroTech with a Phase Kit. Creating waaaaay over 300 horses from the big block for a few thousand. However it would be sweet to have a fourstroke that could rip like my HPDI, sip the gas and skip the oil burning. -Tight Lines
