Can you post or send me a picture of your Humminbird 119x (1197,1198,1199) installed on your dash? I’m trying to get an idea of how much space this larger unit takes up. I’ll most likely go with the Ram Swing Arm Mount. I have bubble consoles, not full glass windshields.

I’m trying to decide between the 999 or the 1199

My Kid just mounted one of my HDS 10’s on his boat this weekend using the ram swing arm.
I personally prefer the ball, but liked this set up.
Problem is the swing arm in now really interferring with how his cover works and is a wear point. The ball would have not been.
Just something to maybe keep in mind before final drilling.

so are you saying with the swing arm, the 119x sits higher than the bubble screens or full glass windshields thus taking the brunt of the cover wear?

That’s why i’m trying to get some pictures of 119x units installed, see how high they sit in relation to windscreens/shields..

Joe, I was only throwing this out as something for you to maybe watch for.
I have no solid info if this would effect you cover set up or not.
It did on my Sons boat but his is a much smaller lund with a okay at best cover set up.

Thanks Jami, this answers my question with the full glass, anybody have a console pick with the bubble screens?

Jami – How much room is there behind the 1198? is it right up against the glass in that picture or can it move farther back?

Check out the new video the guys did on Redwing. James’ 2025 has the 1198 mounted behind the windscreen. Pretty sure its the same console the 1825 has.

Will do, I was just watching through some Keyes Outdoors videos because I know he uses the Bubble screens on his MX’s. He uses the 8 or 9 series though…

on James’s boat, the 1198 does go over the top of the bubble screen on the outside corner, i’m guessing it could be adjusted so the cover doesn’t sit on the screen vs the bubble..
