Interested in hearing what MX1825 owners have done in terms of customizing your boat? Coming from a Skeeter bassboat, I have alot of ideas in terms of custom storage bin pan sizes and finding alternate uses for storage spaces & features, curious what others have done?

Havent made any myself, but have seen the following:
Locking compartments under consoles
Changing side rod locker brackets to have tubes – this took away their ability to have 10 footers in there though.
What I have been considering is replacing the white interior LED lights with red or green.

I would love to this myself. I had amber lights in my lund prior to my skeeter and I really liked them compared to the white LED’s. Not sure if they make different colored LED lights for the boat, but I would love to change them out. I have also mounted a fish measuring board under the lid of my rear live well. This way you can flip the lid, put the fish on the board and if you want to keep it you just toss it into the live well. It also keeps it off the floor where it always ends up which leaves you something to trip on every time you get up to walk around.
March 4, 2014 at 6:52 am #1393546bulbs should be easy to replace with LED’s, I did that on my bassboat, under the consoles looks cool. Does anybody have pictures of these “locked storage” under the consoles some have installed? I’m also planning on making a drop in “Day Box” for the bow live/bait well, I absolutely loved that thing on my old ZX.
The Dude AbidesPosts: 12March 6, 2014 at 1:20 am #1394263Changing the LED’s to red is the biggest change I hope to make; the white ones are blinding.
I added the boarding ladder and ski pylon last year and really like them.
Lockable storage would be great under the dash, provided whatever door you put on there doesn’t end up getting in the way when open.
My MX1825 sits floating, tied up to the dock during the summer. I’d love to find a way to completely empty the rear live well without having to take the boat out of the water.
Keep coming with the ideas – this is great.

March 6, 2014 at 6:46 am #1394288You can use the pump out feature to get it all the way down to the recirc pickup screen. I believe that would leave you with a few inches of water left.

I have a Skeeter ProRuler i’ll need to install as well.. I really don’t want to mess with the foam padding under the livewell door so I might install it under the Port bow locker door on the support board…
March 10, 2014 at 7:28 am #1395083I have a problem more than a solution. The rods in the side rod locker bounce forward and out of the rear support. Any ideas to hold them in place?
Any solutions to preventing water from splashing out of the livewell into the two rear side storage?
Thanks

Drill 2 small holes next to where the reel butts up against the plastic organizer and install 2 small screw eyes. Then use a small 4″ bungee cord to go in front of the reel. Rinse & repeat for however many reels you put in there..

I’m guessing you have a 2012 MX without the added livewell door padding? If so, go get any stick on foam gasket type material and either add it to the lip of the livewell, or add another layer of foam to the underside of the door, either will press down and make a better seal when the livewell door is closed. Skeeter added thicker foam to the door top for 2013+..March 11, 2014 at 10:00 pm #1395504I’m thinking to add a strip on the edge of the livewell creates another problem in the future, not very durable.
Wondering if I can buy the thicker foam from a Skeeter dealer. I just bought the boat as a holdover in January.March 11, 2014 at 10:02 pm #1395505I would like to have some light in the front storage compartments. Could I tap into wiring inside the gunnels and add strip of LED’s?

Surething, they will then be on the Accessory switch at your dash…I did that with my old bassboat, worked like a charm..

The strip on the lip should be fine as it will only get pressed down when closed (get the good 3M stuff) Personally I would just go get some foam padding, cut it to fit as one large piece and glue it to the underside of the livewell door. You’ll most likely need to do the bow baitwell lid as well.

I don’t have pictures but the original tray was replaced with a tray that sat on the same ‘lip’ but dropped another 2-3 inches on the inside of the lip. a hard plastic front was fixed to the side of the boat and bottom side of the console. It had a large opening with a door that could be totally removed. Latches were on the sides of the door much like the latches on the side rod locker, but they were a different brand. Door went on when trailering or running waves. otherwise he had it off.
Met the guy twice last year out of Stoney Point Campground at Leech Lake. Not sure where he is from but assuming he frequents Leech quite often.

Any chance you have a picture of this?
I was contemplating rigging up something with velcro to spread the full width of each rod slot. Was hoping for a 1 strap connection opposed to a differnt ‘hook’ for each rod. Was planning to tackle this once boat is back in my garage in a few weeksMarch 13, 2014 at 8:21 am #1395769I’ll be using the port rod locker mostly for net storage (hopefully I can also fit my fishing seat & post in there as well) I don’t use rods over 8′ so the front rod locker will work fine for me.
I like your velcro idea better! It would allow for more adjustment and isn’t permanant.
Something like this:
Red lines would be velcro strips attached along the width of the rod organizer slots, the yellow lines would be lose velcro pieces used to wrap around the reel and stuck back on the velcro strip.

The Dude AbidesPosts: 12March 20, 2014 at 8:42 pm #1397890I posted a few pics a while back ( photos of ski pylon and boarding ladder MX 1825 #1274653 – 09/03/13 05:07 PM)
I don’t know how to re-post an old post. Hopefully you can find it.
Both the ski pylon and boarding ladder are great. My son loves wakeboarding and waterskiing behind that beautiful Yamaha 150. The only downside to the ladder is that the velcro strap that keeps it folded up is too short and not heavy duty enough. It lost its velcro-ness in about 2 weeks.
