What is the EZ Loader trailer rated for the single axle trailer versus the tandem for the MX 1825? I want to make sure I do not overload when going on long hauls.

It depends were you are from!! Some states have it right on your license plate paperwork. It will give the gross weight.

EZ Loader offers a variety of single-axle bunk trailers with lengths from 16 feet to 24 feet. Axles are either spring or prison. The trailers have a weight capacity ranging from 800 to 3,700 lbs. An EZ loader has a weight capacity of 1,000 lbs., an overall width of 59 inches and an overall length of 16 feet seven inches.

    Single-axle Roller Trailers
EZ Loaders come in a multitude of rollers: 8, 10, 16 20 and 24 rollers. The trailers have a weight capacity ranging from 1,125 to 3,700 lbs. The overall lengths range from 15 feet 9 inches to 24 feet six inches. For example, the EZ 12 to 14-foot trailers with a single spring axle comes with an overall width of 67 inches, overall length of 15 feet nine inches and a shipping weight of 325 lbs.

    Tandem and Tri-axle Roller Trailers
The trailers come with a variety of rollers: 24, 32, 48, 64, 80 and 96. The axle style is torsion. Each tandem trailer comes with 96-inch overall width and lengths ranging from 22 feet two inches to 37 feet two inches. For instance, you can find trailers that have 32 rollers, an overall length of 25 feet and a shipping weight of 1,218 lbs.

Hope this gives you some idea. Also, tire size is crucial as well. Right trailer + right tires =

Best thing to do is determine the weight of everything you plan to haul on a trailer—which includes all of your gear inside the boat, gas, and motors. Then, look for a trailer with a GVWR higher than the weight of everything you will be hauling –

Single axle has a capacity of 2900lbs and GVWR of 3650lbs
Tandem has a capacity of 3400lbs and GVWR of 4650lbs

Now GVWR is everything that you will be towing including the trailer weight while capacity is just the weight sitting on top of the trailer

The MX1825 weighs in at 2075lbs.. A 150 4 stroke weighs 491 lbs. boat and motor will put you at 2566 lbs., so you are getting close to your capacity weight w/o putting anything else in the boat.

    Calvin,

What is the stock trailer from Skeeter rated at?

If I have a 200 HPDI, kicker, batteries, trolling motor, fishing gear, and gas, I would probably be in the neighborhood of 3,000 to 3,200 pounds.

Obviously I will not be putting any substantial additional weight in the boat, but occasionally containers of pots and pans as well as other light weight bulky items may be there for transportation to Canada. Just trying to get a feel for what I can safely haul without putting the trailer in danger of being overloaded.

I had a MX1825 w/ 4 stroke 200 yami, T9.9, four batteries, Terrova, two ‘birds, and all my fishing stuff (which is alot; more than most for sure), and I was suprised to find that I was over 4000 pounds. I think it was right around 4200. As Cal stated, the GVWR is 3650, so I was pretty grossly over loaded. I think you need to be careful of how much you haul with the single trailer.

Did you have any issues with your load or did you switch to a tandem?

These numbers are right off the Skeeter trailers on the showroom here in Ramsey.
