I really don’t like the idea of drilling any holes in my hull, any issues with using these epoxy on plates that take all the transducer mounting holes…

I’ve used one of some kind on my last four boats. I’ve tried the epoxy route twice. Maybe I suck at it, but with in a coupe years ended up using two stainless steel screws to secure it to the transom. Marine gooped the heck outta the screw holes and screws.
Don’t know what your rig is, but on my current rig my in-dash depth puck is a ‘through-the-hull’ mount(no holes) and I even ended up re-doing that this last year. Also, if your going to have more than one puck back there, you might find you’ll need to separate them if your getting interference. So you could end up with a transom saver on each side.
    Good luck with it.

Have you been using the glassed in transducer versus an external unit, and if so were you having issues with the glassed in unit? I am picking up an 1825 shortly and it has the glassed in puck. I am debating whether to add an external unit for a better signal. I would think that the glass would need to sanded to make the epoxy adhere properly. I know I would not want to drill holes in the hull either.

I have a new boat coming and want to eventually get Humminbird Side Imaging, i’ll use the factory glassed in ducer for high speed pickup with the Y cable..

I am having electronics installed next week in a WX1850. The puck was already installed inside the boat. I am having a HB DI installed in the dash will there be interferance with the puck in the boat compaired to mounted outside on the trasom?

What is the Y cable? This is all new to me first brand new boat i have owned.

The Y cable splits the through hull transducer with the Side imaging transducer, so the Humminbird uses the through hull for high speed readings and the SI ducer for slower sideimaging…in the past you had to actually flip a switch to tell it what transducer to use, now it does it automatically. Cable is like $30
