Are any of you guys running a 4 blade prop with your skeeter mx 1825 and the f 150 motor. Im carring a heavy load of equipment and with any more than 2 in the boat its a pain to get on plane. Just wondering if you had any ideas on what prop to use. Trimed all the way up with the stock 19 pitch 3 blade Im running at 6000rpm and 49mph.

Honestly if you get the hydrofoil that sbc installs you will not have any trouble with the 3 blade. I have it and am very impressed with the performance

You can change the pitch and will get on plane better but lose a few top end. Speed really won’t change much. A few seconds of fishing time unless running very long distances.

I would strongly suggust the “edge” plate. I would start by adding that and if that doesnt completely solve that issue I would drop down to an 18p relience IF your going to be running a heavy load all the time!

Other than the cost, is there any disadvantage to using a hydrofoil?

I personally havent seen one. Only other thing would be having to drill 6 holes in the cavitation plate.

The best solution is a pair of Bennet Sport trim tabs. You will plane considerably faster, ride quality improves in rough conditions, plane at lower speeds and the boat will feel like a twenty footer when its rough. A four blade prop helps to lift the back of the boat up when your at fast cruising speeds. Other wise drop the pitch and sacrifice some mph.
