Which has more room for electronics and everyday stuff you throw up ontop of the consoles (gloves, hat, sunflower seed bags, etc) Full Glass walk-through wind shield, or the black fiberglass wind screens? Does one stick out towards the bow more than the other?
To be honest, I don’t put anything on my console. The nice part about the MX series is that they have the shelf underneath each console. Plenty of room for all of your everyday nic nacs. Then when you run out of space there you have a ton of room in the glove compartment. As far as electronics, I would think the full windshield. Although I don’t think it would make much of a difference. They did lack in the amount of space on the console for people that are looking to run two units from the helm. As for the space for everything else I think they have the storage covered. Hope this helps.
I was curious if one was installed farther back or forth on the console top than the other…Does the full glass sit higher than the wind screens?
They both take up about the same space as far as forward and back. The full windsheild sits up much higher so it does limit what size and how many locators you can put on there. One downfall with the windscreens is that an 1198 mounted on a solid arm ram sticks slightly above them. That does allow for more room for adjustments though.

Yes it does. An 1198 and 800 series will fit in there. Just takes a little fitting but it will fit in there. Not much windshield left to look through though.
